The second half of the book is given over to treatment considerations, spanning from preventive treatment like fluorides and sealants to filling and crown therapy. This final chapter also includes sections on antibiotic use, managing trauma, sedation, and other particular challenges in everyday practice. Ulrike Uhlmann, in Dresden geboren und aufgewachsen, studierte nach dem Abitur in ihrer Heimatstadt Gesang an der Hochschule für Musik „Carl Maria von Weber“.
Ihr erstes Engagement erhielt sie am Chemnitzer Opernhaus, parallel dazu schloss sie ein zweijähriges Abendstudium zur Solistin ab. Anschließend war sie vier Jahre Mitglied im Sächsischen Staatsopernchor an der Semperoper Dresden. Seit 1987 ist sie im Chor der Bayerischen Staatsoper engagiert. Solistisch wirkt sie hauptsächlich im Konzert- und Oratorienbereich sowie in A-capella-Chören.
